What is the BUSY Project?

Busy is a capacity building project, which aims to develop in Sicily the public administration’s skills in the field of reception, orientation and social integration of migrants. The project is coordinated by the Provincial Authority of Trapani and falls within the scope of the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund of the Home Office, co-financed by the European Union.

Its main objectives are:

Desks

Network of desks with multidisciplinary teams offering support and guidance services to legal guardians of unaccompanied minors and mentors of young adults, but also to directors of shelters, reception facilities and family homes.

MiOriento

Mapping of services offered by the municipality to migrants online on the website.

Animated multilingual tutorials

Animated multilingual tutorials to illustrate in a straightforward and easy-to-use way services accessible to migrants in Italy, for an increasingly user-friendly public administration.

SilverCall

SilverCall, an IT platform to enable counter operators, in the case of foreign users, to book the intervention of a cultural mediator accessing a ‘long list’.

Training

Trainings led by Cefpas (Centre for Ongoing Training and Professional Updating of the Sicilian Health Service) for desk professionals and all public administration personnel with an interest in enhancing their skills on migration and reception issues.

Governance Network

Governance Network, a network of public administrations and local authorities that enables the consolidation of effective procedures through a continuous exchange of experience and information.
